You can access the student server from your home computer!

If you have a Windows computer, just look for “Remote Desktop Connection” under Start – All Programs – Accessories.  (Depending on the version of Remote Desktop is installed, it might be under the Communications folder within Accessories, rather than directly under the Accessories menu.)  Once you start the Remote Desktop connection, just type in “students.emhs.net” (without the quotes) to connect to the server you use while at school. Then simply enter your username and password as you would here at school.

If you have a Mac computer, you’ll need to install the Remote Desktop Connection for Mac, which you can find at http://www.microsoft.com/mac/products/remote-desktop/default.mspx.
