EMMS & EMHS Update
The senior class invites you to attend The Diary of Anne Frank this Friday & Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium. In today’s news, details of Anne Frank’s life continue to unfold and we learn of how she told fairy tales to children in the concentration camp to keep up their morale. Come feel Anne’s spirit, playfulness and love of life in this story of resilience and hope to the end. Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for seniors and students. All tickets are general admission and may be purchased at the door.
The Afton String Quartet will give a concert at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23. The Afton String Quartet is a newly formed ensemble centered in Charlottesville, VA. All are experienced players with extensive playing history in the valley. The quartet will also give a workshop to the string students at EMS. Tickets for the concert will be: Adults: $10, Students/Senior Citizens: $5.00 and can be purchased at the door.

From the Guidance Office: * National Inhalant and Poisons Awareness Week--"One of five students in America has used an inhalant to get high by the time he or she reaches the eighth grade." March 14th-20th is National Inhalant and Poisons Awareness Week. Visit this site for information on the dangers of inhalants commonly found in most households: http://www.inhalants.org/about.htm. * The RMH East Rockingham Health Center (ERHC) will host a free community health fair, including health screenings and children’s activities, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. March 20. In addition, free seasonal flu and H1N1 vaccinations and booster shots will be offered. Adults may receive free blood pressure, blood sugar and prostate screenings. Children may enjoy games, face painting, the Gus Bus and more. Refreshments will be available and door prizes will be awarded. ERHC is located at 13737 Spotswood Trail. Take 33 East of Elkton. * All Girls Conference 2010---April 17th at the Booker T. Washington Community Center in Staunton. The purpose of this FREE event is to unite as a community to nurture the positive development of teenage girls. Activities include: workshops, keynote speaker: Captain Lori Nelson, representatives from Virginia Colleges & Universities, breakfast and lunch, booths, door prizes, friends and fun.
