Occasionally, books on our science or social studies themes will be read for the weekly reading log. I have quite a few titles in the classroom library, and I also borrow from the public library as needed. Here’s a list of science and social studies topics for the year. You might see something this summer that you will want to read during the school year.

We’ll also be talking about various awards for books, especially the John Newbery Award. Each 4th grader will be reading at least one Newbery Award book during the year.
