Community

Campus life at Eastern Mennonite School is designed to help students develop academically, spiritually and socially. Programs include:

  • Big and little sisters on Back to School Night
    Bigs/Littles -- high school students are paired in a mentoring relationship with middle school students;
  • Student ambassadors -- students are nominated by teachers to participate in leadership training for roles in hosting guests and representing the school in various settings
  • Chapel -- held Monday, Wednesdays, Thursday and Friday, grades 6-12 gather in the auditorium for 25 minutes to hear guest speakers, make music, learn about issues, worship and pray;
  • Neighbor groups -- held Tuesday mornings, a time for a group of 8-12 students (middle or high) to create a safe and famliiar space for discussing school-wide issues, personal concerns, and current events; to share food; to laugh, cry, play and pray together. 
Mix-it-up lunch. Building community through
sharing food and conversation.

We also build community through clubs, athletics, drama and music.
