Applying to EMS

Step #1 - VISIT.

A campus visit to EMS is the best way to experience the culture of our school, to share your hopes for your student, and to learn about what we do differently. We consider a visit the first step in the admissions process so that you can determine if EMS is a good fit for your family. We host admissions events throughout the year and individual tours upon request. When registering for an event or a tour, please let us know if you have any special requests for your visit.

Step #2 - APPLY.

You’ll find the easiest way to apply to EMS is using our online application system. You'll find 4 online applications:

  • Kindergarten application

  • Grades 1-5 application.

  • Grades 6-12 application.

  • International application (click here for more information).

Please refere to the admission timelines on the right side of this page.

Please note supporting documents are required for different applications. They include:

  • 2-3 references, depending on the grade level.

  • School transcripts from student’s current school or copies of homeschool work and testing. You may also use this form to authorize your student’s current primary or secondary school to share his/her school transcripts with EMS.

  • Other documents such as writing samples for 6-12 grade, and immunization schedules and copies of birth certificates for kindergarten.

After the application is submitted, you may want to contact your student’s references to ensure they have received the emailed reference form and ask that these electronic forms be completed in a timely manner.

Once EMS has received the application and all supporting documents, the admission file is complete. It will be reviewed by our admissions committee and our admissions counselor will contact you with further admissions information. Occasionally, we may request additional information or may schedule a meeting with families during the admission phase.

Step #3 - Submit a FACTS Financial Aid Application, if desired.

Approximately one quarter of EMS families receive a reduction in tuition thanks to our financial aid program. We partner with FACTS, an online financial aid application and eligibility system, to help determine eligibility for aid. To qualify for financial aid, mulitple factors are used to determine eligiblity. This annual application opens February 1 and must be received by EMS by March 15. See the Tuition and Aid web page for more information.
