EMS Principal

Eastern Mennonite School is seeking instructional and administrative leadership for our middle and high school, effective July/August 2012.  This leadership could be two principal positions with some teaching responsibility or one secondary principal position.Principal positions serve as support and supervisor for faculty, school advocate and communicator with the parent community, and oversee student life and co-curricular programming.  Interested candidates may request a full job description and application by emailing This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Successful candidates will:

• Agree wholeheartedly with the mission and values of EMS with active participation in an Anabaptist congregation preferred.

• Exhibit strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, including verbal, written and listening skills.

• Demonstrate initiative and be a self-starter with excellent organization, supervisory, and management skills.

• Read and keep abreast of educational research and trends.

• Be an experienced educator with a minimum of 5 years successful teaching experience.

• Hold a master’s degree, preferably in educational leadership and supervision.

• Be an efficient user of MS Word, Excel and familiar with school database management systems.

• Enjoy supporting school events and co-curricular activities.
